Bohuslav REYNEK:
La lune et le givre – Měsíc a jíní.
[The Moon and the Frost].

Out ofprint

Bohuslav Reynek wrote thirteen poetry collections, all of which were published in his lifetime except the last, Odlet vlaštovek [The Swallows’ Departure]. His crystalline poems, whose brief verses are hard to translate into our language, are unknown in France. A few isolated translations appeared here and there in bibliophile editions or anthologies of Czech poetry, with the exception of Had na sněhu [The Snake on the Snow], a collection of prose poems that Romarin published in a complete bilingual version with translations by Xavier Galmiche (1997). The present edition includes twenty-three poems whose translations into French by various translators close to the poet have never been published. Some glass-plate photographs Bohuslav Reynek took in 1952 punctuate this handful of poems.
